Kurohana is a streetwear label founded by two friends, Rowyn Krol and Marco Lopez Palafox, with the aim of bringing two worlds together: clothing you want to live in, and art you want to look at.

The brand began as an outlet for a creativity they had always felt but struggled to express. For a long time, both felt that creating belonged to people who were more talented, more knowledgeable, more original, or simply born with a different way of seeing the world. Creativity seemed like something that had to be justified by skill, experience or complete dedication before it could be taken seriously.

Kurohana grew from rejecting that idea.

Neither founder claims to have everything figured out. Much of the brand is built by following instinct, curiosity and inspiration, learning through mistakes and allowing each idea to lead naturally into the next. There is no perfect formula behind it. Kurohana exists because they chose to create before feeling completely ready.

Meaning “black blossom” or “black flower,” Kurohana represents beauty and individuality outside of what is expected. A flower is usually imagined as bright, delicate and full of colour, but something darker can hold just as much beauty and presence. The black blossom became a symbol of creating differently, standing apart and finding value in something even when it does not fit the conventional image.

That philosophy carries into the clothing itself. Kurohana combines comfortable, high-quality silhouettes with bold artwork, intricate graphics, symbolism and details inspired by art from around the world. The intention is to create pieces that feel effortless to wear without stripping away the depth and expression of the artwork they carry.

But Kurohana is intended to become more than clothing. The wider goal is to build a community rooted in creativity, one that encourages people to make, explore and express something of their own without waiting for permission or validation.

Anyone can create something of their own, even when everyone and everything has convinced them otherwise.
